For the value-for-money mum

If your mum is the sort who is game to try new things, why not take her to NOX, Singapore’s only dine-in-the-dark restaurant. Here you will rely on your remaining senses to savour the food in a pitch black room and spend some real quality time (without the distraction of handphones) with mum! The menu is a three-course mystery meal comprising 12 dishes, though there will also be a complimentary glass of sparkling wine – one less surprise there.

Each set is $88++, but mothers dine free with every three paying guests. The promotion is on 13 May, at 11.30am or 6pm.

For the traditional mum

For the mum who can’t stop talking about her childhood, celebrate with a touch of nostalgia at Spring Court in Chinatown. At 89 years old, it is one of Singapore’s oldest restaurants and has definitely stood the test of time. The family-run kitchen can be relied on for consistently good Chinese food and lots of reminiscing. Sets for 10 people are $668++ or $898++ depending on the menu, though either choice comes with a roasted suckling pig. Promotion is available till 13 May.

For the fancy mum
